Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled
Cisco Voice Engineer
to join our
Telecommunications Voice Delivery Team . This role is essential in designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco-based voice communication systems across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in
Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) ,
voice gateways , and
VoIP technologies , and will contribute to scalable, secure, and reliable voice services. Work will be managed within an Agile delivery framework using
Jira
for task tracking and progress monitoring.
Key Responsibilities Voice Infrastructure Management: Design, configure, and maintain Cisco voice technologies, including CUCM, Unity Connection, Webex, gateways (VG310, ISR), and IP phones. Call Flow Engineering: Develop and manage voice routing, dial plans, and call flows to ensure consistent performance across all enterprise sites. Project Deployment & Collaboration: Partner with project managers and field technicians to execute deployments and migrations, such as Avaya-to-Cisco transitions. Incident & Problem Management: Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests related to SME, CUCM, CMS, CUC, SRST, Analog, and SBC setups. Change Control & Governance: Actively participate in CAB (Change Approval Board) reviews and adhere to enterprise-level change control protocols. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, call flow diagrams, and implementation guides. Design & Job Package Development: Interpret and produce technical designs and job packages for implementation by internal and external teams. Implementation Support: Execute scheduled system changes, occasionally outside of business hours, to minimize impact to business operations. Vendor Management: Coordinate with third-party vendors, ensuring timely and quality delivery of voice solutions. Project Timelines: Deliver on project timelines and proactively identify risks, issues, and mitigation strategies. Cross-Platform Integration: Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to support additional platforms such as voice recording systems or dispatch consoles. Required Qualifications
Minimum
3+ years
of hands-on experience in Cisco voice engineering or enterprise telecommunications. Strong experience with: Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) Unity Connection Voice gateways (VG310, ISR)
Deep understanding of VoIP protocols (SIP, SCCP, H.323) and QoS best practices. Proficiency with troubleshooting and tools such as: Cisco Webex Control Hub RTMT Wireshark Network monitoring platforms
Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications
Cisco certifications (e.g.,
CCNA/CCNP Collaboration
or equivalent). Experience with
Avaya-to-Cisco migrations . Familiarity with enterprise
change control processes
and CAB participation. Experience in
utilities or energy
sectors is a plus. Exposure to: UCCX, UCCE, or WxCCE On-prem and cloud-based

Certifications in
Agile, ITIL, or COMPTIA
