Access to Talkspace and the Calm App. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Paid Sick Leave Under the professional guidance of a Radiologist, produce diagnostic images of breast tissue using special x-ray equipment. Under the federal law Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA), mammographers must meet stringent educational and experience criteria in order to perform mammography procedures. Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities: Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms, galactograms, stereotactic biopsies, wire localizations and DXA scans. Evaluate all performed exams for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label. Transmit to PACS. Assist with Xray related duties such as (Fluoroscopy, General Xray, C-arm operations, portable Xray exams, etc.). Manage biopsy and follow up exams. Provide clear and thorough explanation of procedures to patients and completes a thorough evaluation of the patients' medical history, symptoms and inquiry of prior related exams Maintain accurate patient records. Performs all aspects of patient care in a manner that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors; documents according to established standards; communicates effectively. Develops and maintains professional and clinical skills. Completes all annual competency and education requirements within established parameters and timeframes. Participates in staff meetings, patient care meetings, educational in-services and other professional activities. Maintains awareness of policies and procedures and performance standards. Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. Other duties as assigned. Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Current active status with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Advanced certification in Mammography Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or within 180 days of hire. Washington State Certification in Radiologic Technology.
