Store Design Manager
Dave & Buster's is seeking an experienced and highly organized Store Design Manager to lead the end-to-end execution of new store builds and remodels across our growing national footprint. In this role, you'll drive strategic planning, design feasibility, and project execution to ensure all locations meet brand standards, operational needs, and financial goalson time and on budget. As a key cross-functional partner, you'll collaborate with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and contractors to oversee project planning, fixture and equipment procurement, site visits, and design coordination. You'll be responsible for maintaining project schedules, managing design changes, and supporting the full lifecycle from conceptual layout through construction closeout. This role is ideal for a certified architect with deep experience managing high-volume retail or entertainment pipelines (50+ projects), strong AutoCAD and project management skills, and a passion for creating innovative, engaging store environments. Manage remodel and new store projects from start to finish to achieve on time, on budget projects Prepare initial layouts for new stores and remodels to determine feasibility Maintain project schedules and communication across all parties to ensure proper coordination Verify overall scope, timing and budget for each project Communicate all comments and requests with appropriate personnel Visit assigned project sites for job progress walks, formal meetings, and store management discussions Coordinate and communicate all project status and open issues with appropriate partner internally and externally to the company Ensure timely procurement and delivery of all fixtures and equipment including all fixture takeoffs Typical New Store & Remodel Process 1. Create preliminary layout for feasibility during lease negotiation process 2. Receive Architectural base plans and review for feasibility 3. Review plan based on: Brand's standards Lineal and square footage requirements Organizational (Operations) criteria 4. Adjust architectural plan as necessary 5. Oversee project Kick-Off call with Legal, Licensing and other consultants as needed and establish initial project schedule and critical path 6. Obtain approval from designated stakeholders 7. Oversee construction document kickoff call with full consultant team 8. Lead quality control construction document review 9. Gather feedback from D&B and Main Event key stakeholders to 90% Document, including KEC, Operations, TV/AV, Security, IT, Merchandising and others 10. Oversee permit submittal by consultant teams and track progress through permit approval 11. Verify bid documents ready for issue 12. Review and approve OPI proposals and verify procurement timing 13. Assist in GC selection and bidding process 14. Attend weekly progress meetings during construction and manage needed changes and updates through the project to minimize impact to time or budget 15. Visit completed projects for learnings to adapt to future projects 16. Verify close out documentation 17. Throughout the process there is continuous updating of reporting, status and communication to stakeholders internally and externally Key Skills & Attributes Certified Architect AutoCad or other drafting program(s) 3D Modeling
Sketchup, Revit, etc. Web-based Project Management Systems (Lucernex Procore) Microsoft Suite of Applications (Excel, Word, Power Point and Project) Ability to create and maintain internal tracking and reporting tools Seasoned experience in running new store pipeline and remodel program of 50+ projects Review and process all Change Order requests Supervise job specific contractor, including invoicing associated with the contractor Develop new displays and fixtures Work closely with vendors, consultants and internal stakeholders in developing floor plan Manage specification or design changes for specific projects as well as prototypical changes that affect projects in process.
