This role involves crafting and assembling detailed wood components for prototypes, scale models, and display pieces, ensuring accuracy and a professional finish.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate, assemble, and finish wooden components for scale models and prototypes according to technical drawings and specifications. Perform sanding, trimming, staining, sealing, and fine finishing to achieve a professional, display-ready appearance. Collaborate with model makers, engineers, and designers to ensure structural accuracy and aesthetic quality. Maintain precision with measuring, cutting, and fitting small-scale or intricate parts. Keep tools and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proficiency in hand tools, power tools, and fine woodworking techniques. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with small-scale or intricate parts. Knowledge of finishing techniques including sanding, staining, and sealing. Ability to read and follow technical drawings and specifications. Experience in model-making, cabinetmaking, or fine finish carpentry preferred.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; trade or vocational training a plus. 1+ years of experience in finish carpentry, cabinetmaking, or model fabrication.
