As a key contributor to the wireless engineering team, the Sr. Wireless Technician plays a vital role in validating and verifying wireless product designs through hands-on testing, data collection, and collaborative feedback. This position supports both hardware and software development efforts by executing detailed test procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring the precision of measurement tools and methods. The role requires a strong foundation in wireless and RF engineering principles, coupled with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively across departments. The Sr Wireless Technician is responsible for the verification and validation of all Starkey wireless product designs, using test procedures, test equipment, lab tools, software tools and orientation from the engineering team. Provide efficient, systematic, and well documented feedback for the tasks that have been assigned. Maintain a clean and organized lab environment in addition to keep track of the calibration methods, requirements, and due dates. Interact with other departments to ensure the flow of tasks and materials. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to wireless and RF engineering. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and works under limited supervision. Job Responsibilities/Results: Support hardware development Use guidelines from the engineering staff to implement required builds and modifications Test and document data collection Use the documentation tools for clear, detailed, and careful recording of test sets, parameters, and others Track calibration methods and due dates Use the engineering guidelines and industrial standards to ensure measurement accuracy Provide feedback of problems and trends observed during test and hardware updates or modifications Proactively use reports or verbal communication to promptly advise about problems and solutions Provide feedback for design developments Use the data and experience acquired during development to help improve performance and reliability of products and processes Support hardware government regulatory qualification Setup location visits and procure parts for qualification prescreening and final test, use experience and guidelines to successfully accomplish regulatory goals, careful and detail documentation of the procedures and results Support EMC, environmental and other compliance requirements Setup location visits and procure parts for qualification prescreening and final test, use experience and guidelines to successfully accomplish regulatory goals, careful and detail documentation of the procedures and results Software: Learn and master the use of software test tools, keep track of software tool upgrades Proactively use and update software tools Provide feedback to improve and accelerate test procedures Communicate to developers the needs and improvements required Verify the right functioning of tools Continuously ensure that data collected meets expectation and, in this way, avoid having configuration and setup errors Data and documentation: Create reports and test procedures Using guidelines promptly update data bases with the data collected or create tables and others that can communicate results. Create and help in the creation of test procedures Verify the validity of data that is been recorded Continuously ensure that data collected meets expectation and, in this way, avoid having configuration and setup errors Support data analysis Use reports, documented data, experiences, and observation to provide help in understanding problems, errors, and failures during development Technical lead Organize and clean lab area Support parts and equipment purchases Provide feedback to improve the flow of material, test time and needed equipment Job Requirements: Education Associate degree or military/equivalent training in technical related fields Experience 4-6 years of experience in related areas. Knowledge / Technical Requirements Analog /digital communication, RF & wireless fundamentals and troubleshooting of related circuits/systems, desired Electrical and RF test and measurement equipment, required Good understanding of digital, analog and RF circuits and working experience in measuring devices under via computer-controlled test equipment, desired Data statistical analysis and statistical process control (Excel, others.) Competencies, Skills & Abilities Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. RF circuits/systems design. Proficiency in using the following equipment: oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, Network analyzer Excellent people skills. Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal. Salary and other compensation: The target pay rate for this position is between $26.65 - $36.35 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include: geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
