Position Summary The Director of Cancer Services (Cancer Resource Center, Hematology & Oncology, Infusion) is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, and overall performance of the Cancer Center. This leadership role ensures the delivery of high quality, patient-centered care while driving initiatives to improve clinical outcomes, enhance operational efficiency, and advance the mission of the organization. The Director facilitates seamless patient transitions across the care continuum, identifies care gaps, and develops solutions to provide the highest standard of care. In this position, the Director will lead the development and execution of service line strategies, collaborate with clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams, and maintain the Cancer Center at the forefront of clinical excellence, innovation, and patient satisfaction. This role also ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as The Joint Commission (TJC) and the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (COC) standards. Position Qualifications Education/Licensure/Certification: Required: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field required.
BLS
Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
Strongly Preferred: Current California Registered Nurse license and BSN
Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
Knowledge/Experience: 10+ years of Experience in Healthcare required.
5+ years of experience in Oncology required.
3+ years experience in leadership required.
Experience in the administration of chemotherapy required.
Knowledge of Joint Commission, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) standards
Knowledge of scope of practice for Medical Assistants, LVNs, RNs, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners
Comprehensive knowledge of the clinical integration between back-office operations and medical records, front desk procedures, regulatory requirements, and process optimization.
Financial clinical management experience of clinical departments
Experience with quality improvement initiatives, patient safety standards, and regulatory compliance in a healthcare setting.
Skills: Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, resource management, and cost control.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on achieving results and improving patient outcomes.
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
Travel required to attend meetings, conferences, and collaborate with other healthcare organizations.
