Machine Operator

2nd shift M-TH 2:30pm-1am PAY $18.00

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Machine Operator is responsible for operating automated manufacturing equipment per documented manufacturing assembly procedures. They may also perform manual assembly processes and/or inspections per documented procedures or other requested tasks from the manufacturing Lead and/or Supervisor.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Performs daily tasks as directed by Supervisor or Lead;
  • Trains to and follows documented manufacturing assembly, inspection, and testing procedures;
  • Sets up and operates automated equipment per documented procedures
  • Troubleshoots issues with equipment and process, based on level of experience
  • Performs minor equipment maintenance as directed by Lead or Supervisor;
  • May also manually assemble various parts using tools such as microscopes, soldering iron, tweezers, pneumatic dispensed epoxy, etc.;
  • Cross trains and works on several types of machines throughout the entire manufacturing process, as directed by supervisor or lead;
  • Performs manufacturing tasks per applicable manufacturing procedures and documentation;
  • Monitors multiple machines to ensure quality of parts being produced;
  • Performs quality inspection and testing on unassembled and assembled parts;
  • Responsible for the quality of parts produced;
  • Documents results on forms or other media as instructed per procedures using GDP (Good Documentation Practices);
  • Ensures line clearance procedures are always followed;
  • Setup and cleans work areas, including machines, gauges, tables, and surrounding floor area;
  • Keeps work environment clean and organize;
  • Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related activities as needed;
  • Trains new associates to manufacturing procedures (MAP, AP, etc.);
  • Adheres to safe practices and reports unsafe conditions to Supervisor or Lead;
  • Performs other duties or special projects or activities as requested;
  • Reports manufacturing issues to the lead or supervisor when they arise to keep machine down time to a minimal.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Previous experience operating semi-automated and/or automated manufacturing equipment;
  • Ability to follow written and verbal English instructions;
  • Ability to write legibly on forms using GDP (Good Documentation Practices);
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time;
  • Good eye hand dexterity;
  • Proven ability to work with a high attention to detail;
  • Able to use a microscope;
  • Able to use tools to assemble small parts;
  • Proven ability to operate machinery in a safe manner and comply with company safety guidelines;
  • Ability to work overtime;
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds;
  • Ability to work in a large diverse group of people in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One or more years of experience with setup and operation of automated equipment in a manufacturing setting;
  • Electromechanical experience;
  • Mechanical aptitude;
  • Experience with high-speed machine operation;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experience working in medical device manufacturing;
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
