Plant Reliability and Maintenance Engineer
Located in Decatur, IL, our large processing facility is seeking a skilled Plant Reliability and Maintenance Engineer dedicated to improving equipment reliability and maintainability. In this vital role, you will develop and refine maintenance strategies to ensure equipment efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize operational costs. You will collaborate closely with Maintenance Planners and Skilled Trades to enhance the equipment's lifecycle and reliability through innovative engineering solutions and a proactive approach to equipment failures.
Salary: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

In this vital role, you will develop and refine maintenance strategies to ensure equipment efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize operational costs. You will collaborate closely with Maintenance Planners and Skilled Trades to enhance the equipment's lifecycle and reliability through innovative engineering solutions and a proactive approach to equipment failures.
Salary: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies that enhance equipment reliability and maintainability.
- Provide technical guidance including parts lists, repair and inspection procedures, and methods to support Maintenance Planners and Trades.
- Analyze equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance processes and equipment performance.
- Implement and optimize Predictive and Preventive Maintenance programs incorporating PPM technologies such as vibration analysis, lubrication, and infrared.
- Engage in the design and modification of new and existing equipment to ensure reliability and maintainability.
- Participate in budget planning and management for maintenance projects.
- Collaborate with other departments to align engineering solutions with organizational goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- At least 4 years of experience in reliability and maintainability of industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and SAP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability in conducting root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with team members across the facility.
- Advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in a processing or manufacturing environment, particularly within the food, chemical, or related industries.
- Professional certification in Maintenance and Reliability.
- Hands-on experience with advanced PPM technologies.
- Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to manage projects.
- Expertise in equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
- Strong proficiency in preventive and predictive maintenance technologies.
- Ability to design and implement maintenance strategies and procedures.
- Project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
