nWork Schedule: Onsite 4 days/week (Fridays remote)
nCompensation: $160K–$180K base + ~15% discretionary bonus
nnA leading private equity firm headquartered in Chicago is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its enterprise IT team. This is a broad generalist role focused primarily on Windows Server administration and Microsoft Azure , supporting the infrastructure across headquarters, remote offices, and disaster recovery sites. The engineer will work on system upgrades, security patching, monitoring, incident resolution, and be a key escalation point for internal IT support. Occasional travel to remote offices and participation in an on-call rotation is required.
nnResponsibilities Include:

- Administer Windows Server environment (AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Print Server) n
- Support and manage Office 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Azure AD) n
- Maintain Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure n
- Manage VMware ESXi environments n
- Assist with backup, recovery, antivirus, and patch management n
- Oversee server and network upgrades with a focus on consolidation, availability, and security n
- Perform system audits, documentation, root cause analysis, and incident response n
- Collaborate with MSP providers and support end-user escalations n
Required Experience:

- 5–7 years in systems/server administration n
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Azure n
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills n
- Bachelor’s degree required n
- Financial services industry background n
Desirable Skills:

- Hypervisor/VMware management experience n
- Multi-factor authentication setup and hardening n
- Familiarity with enterprise security and infrastructure planning n
