Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:

As a Sterile Processing Trainer, you will play a vital role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our Sterile Processing Technicians. You will create and facilitate training programs aimed at their orientation and ongoing education, ensuring high standards of care and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with department leaders and staff to identify the learning needs and competencies for Sterile Processing personnel.
  • Design, coordinate, and lead competency assessments for new hires during orientation.
  • Monitor and document new hires' progress throughout their orientation, providing additional support as needed.
  • Create and implement required competencies and continuing education resources for existing Sterile Processing staff.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment, thriving in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Obtain CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician) through CBSPD within 1 year. Preferred: CRCST certification at hire for candidates with direct sterile processing experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing or as a Surgical Technologist in an operating room.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before the start date. Must maintain a valid BLS or CPR card for at least sixty days post-hire.
