The CIP Project Manager/Project Engineer earns a competitive salary of $71,682.31-$91,394.95/per year based on experience and qualifications . Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance, plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. nnA DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CIP PROJECT MANAGER/PROJECT ENGINEER
nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Coordinates review of plans and specs for design of capital projects; facilitates design kick-off and review through PER/30% phase, 60%, 90%, and 100% plans. n
- Develops project scope, cost, schedule, and budget estimates; monitors personnel and consultants to accomplish work. n
- Performs project planning, developing a project charter, determining impact of adjacent projects, documentation of existing problems, handles community complaints, superordinate agency requirements and studies to develop high level scope, budget, schedule and risk assessment. n
- Directs all aspects of construction, including oversight of consultants, surveyors, test labs, contractors, CM/CIs, and administrative staff; conducts preconstruction conference and progress meetings; conducts site visits and resolves field issues. n
- Manages design process, ensures work deliverables of technical professionals meet schedule and deliverable milestones; secures project right of way during design phase. n
- Applies engineering principles in review of plans and specifications for capital projects; makes recommendations for revisions. n
- Drafts regular project updates to city manager, council, and public. n
- Recommends selection and coordinates work of contractors; monitors and controls project schedule, budget, consultants and contractors. n
REQUIREMENTS

- Two to five (2-5) years in Municipal Government and/or working with federal, state, and local agencies is preferred. n
- Experience performing quality control on the project from inception through completions to maintain project integrity. n
- Ability to simultaneously work, using an organized and detailed methodology, on multiple tasks. n
- Ability to prioritize a challenging workload in a fast-paced high energy environment. n
- Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, direct, review and evaluate performance of consulting engineers, contractors, and others involved in CIP and non-CIP projects. n
- Ability to make prompt decisions and develop new and relative ideas for providing a quality project with little or no supervision. n
- Ability to assess and analyze project risks, identify mitigation options, make decisions, and implement corrective actions. n
- Ability to achieve specified project goals and objectives independently and as part of a team, assuming direct accountability for the assigned work. n
- Experience with reading and interpreting plans and construction specifications. n
- Experience evaluating contract agreements. n
- Municipal engineering or public works experience. n
- Professional verbal and written communication skills. n
- BS/BA Degree from an accredited college or university and minimum two to five (2-5) years of related experience in construction, engineering or infrastructure project management is required. n
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification required, or the ability to obtain within two (2) years of hire date. n
