Position Overview
The System Administrator/Operator is responsible for maintaining and supporting local IT systems and infrastructure at the Jacksonville, Florida site. This role includes server and network administration, cybersecurity compliance, and advanced troubleshooting. The position ensures system reliability, security, and performance while coordinating with enterprise IT teams for broader initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Administer local network and server infrastructure, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Manage Active Directory objects, Group Policy configurations, and user account provisioning.
Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patch management for systems and applications.
Implement security measures to ensure compliance with applicable cybersecurity standards.
Support vulnerability scanning, remediation, and documentation activities.
Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues beyond the scope of help desk staff.
Maintain accurate system documentation, asset records, and operational procedures.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.
3–5 years of hands-on experience in system and network administration within a secure or regulated environment.
Proficiency in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 management.
Understanding of network protocols, firewall configuration, and cybersecurity principles.
Certifications
Must hold an industry-recognized certification at an intermediate or higher level (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate).
Additional certifications in system administration or networking are preferred.
Security Requirements
Must be eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level.
Must meet applicable federal cybersecurity training and certification standards.
