Job Title: Electronics TechnicianDepartment: Quality AssuranceReports To: Quality Assurance ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSUMMARYPerforms variety of tests on electronic components to determine functioning level and conformance to specifications of electronics products. Supports Electronics Engineering group, as required. Provides repair station services for Power products returned through proper inspection, test, repair, and documentation requirements. May provide guidance and instruction to lower-level technicians. Lays out, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Performs quality assurance testing of electronic products, and completes documentation pertaining to the testing functions.Discusses layout, assembly procedures and problems with Electronics Engineers, and supports with technical assistance as requested.Lays out, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies developmental and production electronic components, parts, and systems as it pertains to the test area.Assembles experimental circuitry (breadboard) or completes prototype model, as needed, in testing or engineering support role.Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.Sets-up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model.Analyzes and interprets test data. Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance.Updates documentation as required through Documentation Change Request (DCR) system.Complies with and conducts business in accordance with the letter, spirit, and intent of all relevant laws and regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions; wherefore, refrains from any illegal, dishonest, unethical conduct. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, and/or EXPERIENCEEducation: Associate's Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.Work Experience: Five (5) or more years' applied experience and/or training in electronics troubleshooting and repair analog and digital circuits down to component level.Or, equivalent combination of education and experience.In addition, this position requires:Ability to comprehend oral and graphic instructions or technical information, and write documentation and correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to assembly workers, supervisors, engineers, FAA inspectors and certification officials, customers, and other employees of the organization.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Working knowledge of standard bench-level test and measurement equipment and problem diagnosis to component level. Proficiency in computer usage (i.e. Word, Excel, MAPICS, and other database and analysis diagnostic tools)Demonstrates use of proper troubleshooting techniques, soldering techniques, and safety techniques for all types of circuits, components (DC, AC, analog, digital circuits), digital test equipment (volt/ohm/amp, distortion analyzer, oscilloscope), and can interpret the resultant data.Ability to identify technical problems, evaluate and select available options for solutions, and to carry out furnished instructions.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electronic circuit schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, flow diagrams and manufacturers' data publications.Familiar with concepts of quality control and safety involving electronic repairs.This position must meet "US Person" Export Control Requirements as defined by 22 CFR 120.62 - "US Person means a person who is a lawful permanent resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)."
