Building Maintenance and Security Maintaining and providing a secure, safe, healthy, and supportive community in addition to helping stabilize our residents by promoting self-worth. Maintaining a clean building environment by encouraging residents to properly and carefully discard their trash; partake in the cleanliness of the building; ensuring that the building is sanitary; ensuring vacant apartment efficiencies are properly prepped and sanitized for new residents. Coordinating with outside contractors for maintenance and repair tickets. Maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the office area, front desk area, staff bathroom, storage room and resident activity area. Maintaining the cleanliness, organization and upkeep of storage room and building cleaning supply closets, etc. Monitor building security cameras. Building surveillance and smoke checks. Supervising residents during fire drills, completing the Fire Drill report, and filing in the Fire Drill Logbook. Clerical Assistance Other responsibilities will include assisting in office tasks, filing, screening calls, emailing, typing
correspondence/fliers,
compiling documents, copying, researching, etc. Assisting with the facilitation of day programming and resident groups as needed. In a professional manner, securing charts/records containing confidential and sensitive information, and the upkeep of program brochures, fliers, etc. Monitoring and maintaining Daily Building Logs. Data entry -- shift reports. Using business communication skills when promoting and explaining the agency services properly and professionally redirecting residents to Case Manager for problem resolution and calling emergency responders when in a crisis situation. Assisting with evaluating programs effectiveness in producing positive results. Assisting with maintaining and the upkeep of clients files in PSH. Providing customer service by greeting, receiving, and assisting visitors who are entering the building and ensuring visitors sign in/out. Responsible for receiving and submitting maintenance order requests for proper processing. Distributing mail and packages accordingly to designated apartments. Skills & Qualifications Some college experience in Human Service, Business, Social Work, or Psychology, High School Diploma required. Strong interpersonal skills, reading/writing (grammar) skills, customer service, and office skills. Knowledge of business/office etiquette including business communication. Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations and make good judgement. Experience working with homeless or at-risk populations. Human Service experience may be substituted for college experience. Strong organizational skills, strong leadership skills, ability to work under pressure, ability to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivated. Effective verbal skills: Must be a person to establish a professional working relationship with residents, staff, volunteers and community partners. Computer literacy: must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). A valid state Maryland Drivers License recommended but not required.
