The Fatherhood Coalition Program Coordinator promotes the development and maintenance of the community-based fatherhood coalition. Working collaboratively with other agency and program staff, as well as community partners, the Fatherhood Coalition Program Coordinator increases opportunities for fatherhood engagement across various Brightpoint programs. As the Fatherhood Coalition Program Coordinator, you will engage in community systems work and outreach, and also facilitate groups, workshops and other internal and external events.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

Recruits community organizations and other members for program coalition(s).

Recruits and leads community members to steer fatherhood coalitions.

Champions all fatherhood programming in each assigned county/community and collaborates with agencies and community members to build program capacity; builds relationships with community agencies to promote the development and effective functioning of the community-based fatherhood coalition(s).

Assesses community needs regarding fatherhood engagement and works to establish creative services to fathers in each county/community.

Collaborates with Brightpoint program staff and the staff in partner agencies to maintain inter-agency relationships, communication and coordination.

Schedules, organizes and leads regular program coalition meetings.

Plans, implements and monitors efforts, such as trainings, technical assistance, and coaching, to help address barriers to fatherhood engagement and to increase agency and partner agencies’ staff members’ skills.

Recruits fathers for workshops and fathers’ support group(s) according to program model to increase participants’ parenting skills.

Plans and leads workshops and trainings for fathers to increase parenting skills.

Plans and facilitates other events, such as community presentations, community resource events, focus groups and trainings to promote the fatherhood coalition(s) and achieve goals.

Works collaboratively with other organizations and state agencies to promote the fatherhood coalition(s) and accomplish the coalitions’ plans and goals.

Participates in evaluations of service-delivery quality and related outcomes and utilizes results to continuously improve the implementation of the fatherhood initiative.

May administer surveys and lead focus groups to gather information and enter data into program database.

Prepares reports and maintains program records.

Candidate qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of two years of relevant experience required OR a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of five years of relevant experience required.

Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite applications required.

Experience in planning, leading and executing events preferred.

Experience in community collaboration and networking preferred.

Experience and ability as a trainer preferred.

Familiarity with Winnebago County human service delivery systems preferred.

Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.

Job details:

Compensation: Hourly Range $20.20-$22.21 per hour; offers are commensurate with experience and bilingual candidates may receive additional financial compensation. The salary range provided represents our current estimate for this role at the time of posting and is subject to change. The final salary will be determined based on a range of factors, including but not limited to, a candidate's relevant experience, education, qualifications, skills, certifications, and alignment with organizational needs. Location: Hybrid (remote/community-based); outreach and event participation required in Winnebago County with opportunities to work remotely when not attending on-site meetings or events. Home office is at our Rockford location.

Schedule: Full-time, hourly; general business hours with some flexibility for special projects & event.
