The Opportunity:
Join NAVSEA 03S as a DevOps Engineer supporting the Navy Maintenance and Modernization Enterprise Solution (NMMES), a mission-critical program that supports over 45,000 users executing naval ship and submarine maintenance operations worldwide.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across production, QA, and development environments
Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging, and deployment processes
Implement automated infrastructure capabilities including backups, security tools, and monitoring
Utilize a consistent DevOps approach to improve all phases of the development process
Ensure end-to-end quality across functions and environments
Manage deployment/configuration management tools like Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, or Ansible
Utilize version control tools like GIT, Bitbucket, SVN, or CVS
Support network infrastructure, database, cloud and data center operations
Implement security protocols and compliance measures
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Perl, Bash, PHP, Java, SQL, or C++ Lead DevOps initiatives and mentor junior team members
Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize workflows
Specific labor category determined by years of experience + educational degrees as stated below:
Level III - Bachelor degree and 5 years applicable experience
Level IV - Bachelor degree and 7 years of applicable experience
Level V - Bachelor degree and 10 years of applicable experience
Qualifications:
Required:
Active Secret security clearance required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Experience in DevOps engineering
Strong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems
Experience with AWS and other cloud services
Proficiency in programming and scripting languages
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation
Desired:
Experience with DoD/Navy programs
SAFe certification
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Security and compliance expertise
Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
Understanding of microservices architecture
DevSecOps experience

Pay Range
: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
