Job Overview:

The student records system support is responsible for supporting the statewide school data collection system Infinite Campus, which is an integral component of the K-12 Data System. The system integrates with GEMS, Montana's data warehouse for K-12 education, AccredMT, Montana’s Accreditation Platform, MAEFAIRS, Montana’s financial data system, the SPED Application Portal, Montana’s platform for reporting Special Education Data, and various Assessment Platforms for Statewide Assessments. The system is used to collect, report, and manage the assignment of student identifiers, and related student information, as well as staff, course, and roster information for schools and districts in Montana. __

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Behaviors):

· Knowledge of data gathering methods, procedures, and development of data collection instruments. · Knowledge of computer programming concepts and procedures. · Knowledge of district, school, and educational program structures. · Knowledge of the goals, purposes, reporting and consequences of non-compliance for state education funding, State Board of Public Education administrative rules for accreditation of schools and assessment reporting, and relationship between non-public schools and public entities. · Knowledge of federal and state confidentiality requirements, including FERPA requirements for management and release of student data, and the interaction of state right to know and right to privacy statutes. · Skilled in effective teamwork skills, maintaining working relationships with co-workers, program users, technical personnel, and the public. · Skilled in the use of personal computers, Windows, database management systems, a variety of operations for data analysis and reporting, spreadsheets, use of query programs, multiple large databases and conversion of data formats and Microsoft Office programs. · Ability to recognize sensitive areas and policy issues when gathering and analyzing data. · Ability to analyze complex data for determination of accuracy and reliability. · Ability to apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures to the analysis and evaluation of data. · Ability to condense and translate complex databases into summaries and data presentations. · Ability to maintain high level of skills, keeping abreast of developments and changes in statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to responsible areas of data collection, new developments in the technology for data collection and reporting, regular upgrading of technical skills.

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience

):

· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, database administration, education or related degree. · One year of job-related experience in data quality control, desk auditing or related experience. · Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. *
