We are seeking an experienced and results-driven

Senior Manager - Project Development

to lead and accelerate the development of

energy efficiency and renewable energy projects

across

Public, Federal, and Commercial & Industrial (C&I)

sectors. This role plays a central part in advancing projects from concept through contract award - with a strong emphasis on technical scoping, stakeholder collaboration, and speed of execution.

Reporting to the

Project Development Director

, this role will work cross-functionally to deliver high-impact energy solutions including

HVAC upgrades, lighting retrofits, controls, distributed solar, battery storage, and electrification

.

Key Responsibilities:

Energy Efficiency & Clean Energy Project Development

Lead the development of

energy efficiency projects

, including HVAC upgrades, LED lighting, building automation systems, water conservation, and envelope improvements.

Support the origination and technical scoping of integrated solutions involving

solar PV, battery storage, microgrids, and EV infrastructure

.

Conduct preliminary site audits and collaborate with engineering to develop cost-effective, technically viable energy conservation measures (ECMs).

Prepare project documentation including scopes of work, energy savings calculations, and financial models.

Sector-Specific Development

Manage development efforts across:

Federal clients

using ESPC, UESC, and IDIQ vehicles.

State and municipal agencies

, public K-12 schools, and universities.

C&I customers

with aggressive sustainability, ESG, or decarbonization goals.

Navigate sector-specific procurement processes and support responses to RFPs and RFQs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Interface with sales, engineering, estimating, legal, construction, and finance teams to align project scope, risk, and delivery strategy.

Drive proposal development and project advancement through internal gate reviews and client meetings.

Engage external vendors, technology partners, and subcontractors for cost and schedule input.

Speed to Execution

Identify and resolve project development roadblocks quickly to maintain momentum.

Leverage internal tools, templates, and best practices to streamline development cycles.

Track key milestones and proactively escalate risks or resource needs.

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $ 155,000 - $ 194,000. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is $ 178,000 - $ 223,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

YOU MUST HAVE:

7+ years of experience

in

energy efficiency or renewable energy project development

, or equivalent preferably in an ESCO, EPC, or energy firm.

Proven experience delivering projects in

Public, Federal, and/or C&I sectors

.

Strong technical knowledge of energy efficiency measures, building systems, and clean energy technologies.

Familiarity with ESPC, UESC, performance contracting, and utility or government incentives is a plus.

Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.

WE VALUE:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Energy Systems, Environmental Science, or Business (Master's preferred).

Experience with federal clients (e.g., DOD, DOE, GSA) and public sector funding channels.

Familiarity with tools such as eQUEST, EnergyPlus, or Excel-based M&V models.

Certifications such as CEM, PMP, LEED AP, or PE are highly desirable.

Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, multi-project environments.
