The engineer will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting on-premises and public Cloud Data Center network solutions at Key Bank. The engineer should possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as the job function will require them to detect, communicate, and fix issues so that the availability and performance of the data center is optimal.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a subject matter expert in supporting data center network solutions

Perform daily operational tasks submitted by clients through Service Now

Install, configure, and maintain data center network hardware and software, in support of Key Bank infrastructure and applications.

Create and update network and infrastructure Visio diagrams, write Standard Operating Procedures, maintenance plans and provide status reports as required, participate in project meeting calls and other operational and maintenance tasks.

Troubleshoot network problems, network device configurations and coordinate with various department administrators to facilitate connectivity issue resolution.

On-Call and weekend/after business-hours work will be required.

Qualifications

Prefer a B.S. in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Data Center Operations or Data Center Systems Engineering; 5+ years overall IT experience (in lieu of a degree) working in a large enterprise environment.

Excellent attention to details

Excellent communications skills and ability to interact with clients

Experience supporting and maintaining Data Center Network platforms to include initial design and configurations, maintenance, upgrades and replacement of the latest Data Center systems.

Google Cloud Networking and VPC solutions

Cisco routing and switching

Palo Alto Firewalls

F5 Load Balancers

Remote-access technology (Enterprise VPN)

Experience with Google Cloud VPCs and Network Solutions to support a large enterprise

Experience with IaC using Terraform for automated configuration roll-out via a CI/CD pipeline in Public Cloud environments (GCP, Azure, AWS, etc)

Demonstrate an ability to craft and understand firewall rule deployments

Knowledge and experience of both LAN/WAN designs and the support processes for large network deployments

Experience with TCPDump, Wireshark and analyzing network traffic

Demonstrate a solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP network models

Experience with custom SSL, ciphers, and security traffic performance optimization

Knowledge of networking and systems administration; and the ability to troubleshoot problems

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Service Now change management and problem management platform

Experience with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Visio

Programming experience with Python, Ansible and Terraform for automation services

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $68,000 to $103,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
