Patient Care Technician PCT - Telemetry Department

Work hours: Full Time, 36 hrs./week, day shift. 5:45Am- 6:15Pm
Telemetry Department highlights:
Active Unit Based Council
Tenor Staff with a longest Team having been here 30 plus years
Nursing Support Staff have their own Monthly Meeting with Nurse Manager
Cross Team Functionality with other departments
Here's What You Need
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
No experience required
1 year of hospital PCT experience is strongly preferred.
PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire. Upon Hire is required Or
EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) Upon Hire is required Or
Other Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire is required Or
Other 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire is required And
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required And
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days is required
Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
What You Will Do
Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
Documents accurately and appropriately.
Anticipates patient/family and visitor needs and takes action to meet those needs and rounds as appropriate
Uses Professional Practice Model philosophy to work in partnership with patients, families, physicians, peers and all other disciplines.
Maintains and enhances patient care skills.
