The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Technology and Services Division.
This is a programming position that performs all activities involved in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The software applications are typically moderate to complex systems. These may be new systems being developed from the ground up, new integration projects, or maintenance and enhancements on existing systems. This position may lead a team of programmers making incremental assignments and monitoring outputs.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity ** ** * Knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of information systems development: analysis, design, construction, testing, training, implementation, and documentation. * Ability to solve information system problems and provide guidance, instruction, and mentoring to other programmers. * Familiarity with Web based applications, agile methodologies and industry standard security practices. * Meet minimum qualifications: o College Degree (Bachelors) in computer science or related field. o Four years of job-related work experience in computer project management, computer programming, or systems analysis. o Five years of experience with Oracle Forms, Reports, and PL/SQL. o Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. o Preferred experience with low-code development environment such as Service Now or SalesForce. o Preferred experience with enterprise reporting tool such as Tableau, Pentaho, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, Crystal Reports, Cognos, or similar. **

This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy. This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2026. The primary location for this position is open for consideration contingent on available workspace. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state and DPHHS policies.
