The Company: Our client, Butler Automatic is the inventor of automatic splicing, and the largest global manufacturer of automatic web splicing equipment for food, pharmaceutical, printing and consumer packaged goods markets. Their company's splicers are used to manufacture many different products including stand-up pouches, flexible pouches, film bags, paper bags, business forms, envelopes, disposable diapers, wallpaper, fiberglass insulation, and corrugated cardboard. The Role: Butler Automatic is seeking a traditional Machinist to manage the fabrication of parts relevant to the manufacturing of splicing equipment. The Machinist will be responsible for repeat fabrication as well as custom fabrication. The Machinist will ensure that the quality of the parts produced will meet or exceed customer's expectations. Key Responsibilities:Operates and maintains lathes, milling machines, grinders, drills, etc.Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers Fabricate repeat parts and custom parts from various metals, alloys and thermoplasticsRework vendor parts as necessary to expedite buildRead and interpret technical drawings to fabricate parts according to specificationsSet up tooling and fixtures for machining operations Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performancePerform daily housekeeping duties to keep the machine shop clean and free of debrisComplete inspection of components as needed to determine a conformance/non-conformance statusPerform calibration of tooling as neededQualifications:At least 5 years of experience in a relevant manufacturing environmentKnowledge of various metals, alloys and thermoplasticsAbility to read, follow detailed instructions and protocols, and interpret technical drawingsProficient using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in tooling setup and operation Sharp attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipCapable of working in a manufacturing environment and standing for extended periods of timeBenefits/ Perks:Paid Time Off Medical and Dental InsuranceShort- and Long-Term Disability Insurance Life Insurance401(k)Our client, Butler Automatic, is an equal opportunity employer, and values diversity at their company.
