nThe Laundry New Program Leader is a senior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) leadership role requiring demonstrated mastery of complex regulations, compliance, hazard recognition and mitigation, and knowledge and application of these requirements across multiple product lines, sites, and service areas.
nThis role is responsible for establishing integrated Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) and EHS operational plans for the execution of a new laundry program. In addition to working within the AME and EHS functions, this role works closely with plant, technology, factory service, quality and operations leaders in support of the new program. The role also supports new equipment runoff at suppliers and in plant installations following the change management process.
nThis role is intended to transfer to EHS operations support after the execution of the new program is complete.

nEHS Leader for New Laundry Program :

Support execution of new programs, demolition, and New Product Integration (NPI). Continually anticipate, identify, track and mitigate risk the length of the program. Provide expertise to core team to ensure manufacturing risk impact is understood within the total program scope. Ensure significant risks and risks that cannot be mitigated within program resources are elevated to the leadership team and mitigation plans are in place.

Be a liaison between GE Appliances team and Haier group.

Work with the Design team and Advanced Industrial Engineering group in pursuit of Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Service (DFMAS) and Modularity for product designs. Incorporate disassembly for service and recycling where feasible and cost effective.

Work with stakeholders (e.g., project leaders) to complete contractor safe work plans, new equipment design reviews, machinery risk assessments, new equipment checklists, and green tags which may require travel to the equipment manufacturer.

Serve as EHS subject matter expert for capital equipment procurement projects: Including specification development utilizing GEA & industry standards, permitting impact and needs assessment, early supplier engagement, technical reviews, factory layout development, material/pedestrian flow, installation and qualification of equipment. Maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and employee ergonomics.

Conduct equipment manufacturer site visits to understand needs, build relationships with site/service teams, assess current EHS NPI integration and adherence to process, understand team challenges and provide solutions.

Support and learn from incident investigations and incorporate enterprise-wide solutions into new programs and NPIs.

EHS Operations :

Provide functional EHS leadership and technical expertise to the site Operations team to support business needs based on compliance requirements, business risk profile, change management needs, and performance objectives.

Deliver simple, strong, and sustainable compliance and risk management solutions that are integrated into daily site operations and business lean enterprise strategy.

Lead a cross-functional team to develop and implement a site-specific injury reduction and EHS risk management plan including specific actions, owners, and due dates. Work with the Plant Manager to integrate in the site's operational excellence metrics the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) required to achieve sustainable injury reduction and environmental compliance results.

Lead execution of annual site EHS training plan. Ensure timely delivery of training including new regulations and standards.

Manage site environmental compliance as applicable (e.g., air emissions, water discharge, and waste disposal & recycling). Contribute to site annual environmental reporting obligations as required.

Manage and deliver EHS compliance training (e.g., LOTO, HAZCOM) including new employee orientation.

Work with stakeholders (e.g., project leaders) to complete contractor safe work plans lock out tag out assessments, and new equipment reviews, which may require travel to the equipment manufacturer.

Provide input to site strategic planning (e.g., annual budgeting, factory master planning, HOSHIN objectives), understand and respond to changing business needs, and foster networking and best practice sharing.

Lead and participate in site incident investigations (e.g., injuries, fires, spills) to ensure causal factors are identified, prevention steps are taken and validated, and lessons learned are shared and leveraged in a timely manner.

Use data analytics to analyze trends and identify site opportunities that may not be readily visible using only anecdotal levels of feedback.

Learn how to use the business EHS management system (i.e., Gensuite).

What You'll Bring to Our Team
nMinimum Qualifications:

BS or BA Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science or related discipline/experience.

7+ years of EHS experience leading and implementing EHS compliance and risk management systems and programs in a manufacturing and/or field service environment with demonstrated sustainable results.

Project leadership experience: demonstrated ability to manage a cross-functional team, manage program risk to meet technical & commercial requirements.
n n - n
Subject expert in environmental, health, and safety regulations, compliance, and hazard and liability recognition and mitigation applied to manufacturing and service operations across multiple product lines.

Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team across multiple levels of an organization, influence/drive change, and achieve measurable, sustainable results.

Demonstrated knowledge of EHS regulations and their application in manufacturing and service operations, budgeting and resource planning, change management processes, and contractor management.

Experience using data analytics to drive strategy and priorities. Strong attention to detail.
