We are seeking a creative, solution-driven and collaborative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. In this entry-level role, you will contribute to the design and development of mechanical components for robotic end-of-arm tooling used in high-performance automation systems.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute across the entire product development lifecycle-from initial concept and prototyping to full-scale production. Responsibilities:
Design & Development
  • Develop initial design concepts for mechanical systems and components for industrial end of arm robotic tooling.
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and design reviews to evaluate performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Perform mechanical analyses including bearing life estimation, load calculations, and FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards (e.g., TUV, RoHS, etc.).
Prototyping & Testing
  • Assemble prototypes to validate mechanical designs.
  • Set up and program 6-axis robotic systems for product testing and demonstration purposes.
  • Record test data and compile technical reports to support product validation and improvement.
Production & Release Support
  • Document production procedures and best practices.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure a smooth production release.
  • Coordinate with sourcing and suppliers to identify and qualify appropriate materials and components.
Innovation & Optimization
  • Research and evaluate new materials, technologies, and manufacturing methods to improve product performance and reduce costs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Provide technical specifications and design insights to support marketing, sales, and customer engagement.
  • Author or contribute to technical documentation and manuals for internal and external use.
Media & Instructional Content Creation
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to produce visual content for new product launches.
  • Create CAD-based animations and renderings to highlight product features and functionality.
  • Record or assist in the production of:
    1. Tutorial videos for product usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
    2. Production process videos for internal training or process documentation.
    3. Demonstration videos using robotic systems for customer education or testing documentation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in CAD modelling & design, preferably with SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, material science, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with Machine Tools & Hand Tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information to non-technical teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a focus on precision in design and documentation.
  • Demonstrated creativity and technical aptitude in mechanical design.
  • A strong work ethic and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute from day one.
Experience & Education:
  • University degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Up to 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with proven hands-on proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
  • Previous experience within the robotics industry would be a major asset.
