SWRI
- Lead the design, development, and testing of advanced electronics for space applications, with an emphasis on high voltage systems.
- Participate in mission and instrumentation planning and development for future space missions, particularly those requiring high voltage power supplies and pulser systems.
- Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams within SwRI to deliver innovative, flight-ready electronics and subsystems for scientific instrumentation.
- Design, develop, and test high voltage electronic systems, including power supplies, transformers, and magnetic components.
- Support the development of high voltage and low voltage power electronics for upcoming missions.
- Conduct circuit simulation and analysis to ensure performance and reliability of designs.
- Perform system-level analysis, parts stress and worst-case analysis of power electronic designs.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of designs and test results and work closely with manufacturing teams to support the assembly and testing of custom electronics.
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
- 3 years: Proven experience in high-voltage, space-qualified power electronics, including design, analysis, screening, and environmental testing.
- Proficiency in circuit simulation and analysis (e.g., LTSpice, TopSpice). Experience with electromagnetic field modeling (FEMM) is highly desirable.
- Experience with flight/mil-spec EEE parts selection, parts stress derating analysis, and worst-case analysis (WCA). Practical knowledge of magnetics design, fabrication, and characterization.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
