Job Purpose:

This role will perform a variety of mechanical engineering work in designing, constructing, and testing designs and repairs of aircraft, and aircraft systems to meet customer expectations.

Duties:

Prepare engineering data in accordance to customer specifications and aircraft SIRM
n

Adhere to FAA, customer, and company regulations in project design
n
n
Coordinate with other engineers, managers, DER’s and clients to insure timely project completion
n
n
Design structural modifications and repairs for Company aircraft
n
n
Perform engineering design evaluations
n
n
Conduct analysis from conceptual through design of aircraft structures and/or systems
n
n
Effectively communicate with co-workers and customers to insure a quality product is delivered
n
n
Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems
n
n
Evaluate project progress by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions
n
n
Formulate design of aeronautical/structural products or systems to meet customer requirements
n
n
Other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications:

n
MS Engineering, or BSME, BSAE, BS Eng. and 5-7 years aviation design experience
n
n
Mechanical Design Engineering airframe experience preferred
n
n
Ability to work in a team environment
n
n
Some knowledge of FAA guidelines, including Part 91, 135, 141
n
n
Ability to work with and take guidance from senior engineers and managers
n
n
Excellent customer service and communication skills
n
n
SolidWorks 3D Modeling experience preferred
n
n
AutoCAD experience preferred
n
n
Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance
n

Job Experience:

Desired experience is for mechanical design and modification of aircraft, especially Beechcraft King Air, DHC-8, Gulfstream and 737 models. This would include both design of details and assemblies for both aircraft centric and customer provided equipment for various missions. Familiar with standard aviation concepts, practices and procedures.
