Role: Instrumentation and Controls Engineer
Location: Austin, TX 78725 (onsite 5 days/week)
Engagement: 6 months C2H (contract-to-hire)
Pay Range: $60/hr. - $68/hr.

Duties:
- Work on instrumentation and control systems for the manufacturing processes (especially utilities like HVAC, Chilled Water, Compressed Air).
- Choose and size sensors, hardware, and controls needed for these systems.
- Review P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams) and system drawings.
- Collaborate with programmers and HMI developers to improve usability.
- Support construction teams, troubleshoot issues, and help with system designs and documentation.
- The candidate should have 3-5+ years of experience in each of the following:
- As a Controls or Instrumentation Engineer in an industrial setting
- Sizing/selecting sensors and hardware, reading wiring diagrams, P&IDs, etc.
- Working with HVAC, Chilled Water, Compressed Air systems
- Selecting circuit protection devices, PLC hardware, VFDs, sensors, etc.
- Using AutoCAD, Revit, and ideally 3D tools like Navisworks
- Using SPI (InTools) or equivalent tools for managing instrumentation data
- Experience taking designs from concept to production
- Knowledge of Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Beckhoff PLCs
- Programming experience in Python, Java, C, or VB
- Database skills in MSSQL, MySQL, or Access
- Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical with controls focus, etc.)
- Look for candidates with strong instrumentation + control engineering experience in industrial environments.
- Focus on utilities-related systems like HVAC, chilled water, compressed air.
- Look for AutoCAD + SPI + hardware sizing skills.
- Programming is a minor part (only 5% of role) - so it's not mandatory but a plus.
