CSI Recruiting is working with one of the country's leading independent operating companies on their need for an experienced and capable Senior Subsurface Reservoir Technician to live and work in Oklahoma City, OK.
The Subsurface Reservoir Technologist plays a pivotal role in managing and innovating data workflows, acting as a key liaison between technical teams, and driving the adoption and maintenance of advanced Reservoir and geoscience solutions.
This role emphasizes hands-on data management and project stewardship in the areas of Exploration, Outside Operated projects, Geochemistry, EOR efforts, and new ventures, ensuring that data-driven insights and operational excellence are achieved across geoscience and reservoir teams.

The Subsurface Reservoir Technologist plays a pivotal role in managing and innovating data workflows, acting as a key liaison between technical teams, and driving the adoption and maintenance of advanced Reservoir and geoscience solutions.
This role emphasizes hands-on data management and project stewardship in the areas of Exploration, Outside Operated projects, Geochemistry, EOR efforts, and new ventures, ensuring that data-driven insights and operational excellence are achieved across geoscience and reservoir teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Management & Innovation
- Oversee and continually improve the processes for loading, formatting, and storing reservoir, geological, and geochemical data, including both automated and manual data loading into specialized software environments.
- Maintain and optimize Snowflake data tables, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and innovative approaches to data storage and management.
- Understand and manage the transfer and formatting of data from labs to Snowflake and Spotfire, ensuring seamless integration and usability for technical
- teams.
- Maintain and build Aries cases to characterize exploration portfolio for onshore US and international projects, as well as company wide outside operated (OBO) projects.
- Lead the management and ongoing maintenance of integrated geochemistry, geothermal, and critical mineral projects.
- Integrate maps, shapefiles, and data from Kingdom into Arc, ensuring all geospatial projects remain current ("evergreen") and support business objectives.
- Oversee well imports, updates, and the overall health of ArcGIS projects.
- Petroleum economic modeling software tool such as Aries, MOSAIC, PHDWIN.
- Apply advanced data management tools such as SQL, Access, snowflake.
- Utilize and support key software platforms, including ArcPro/ArcGIS, Kingdom, and Spotfire (optional).
- Aggregate and interpret large, complex datasets from multiple sources to generate actionable insights for reservoir and geoscience teams.
- Build and quality control reports and meta-data, applying statistical and analytical tools to support decision-making.
- Leverage oil and gas industry experience, with familiarity in planning, forecasting, reserves, and accounting vernacular.
- Experience or willingness to learn python, SQL, snowflake, and Access database skills are highly encouraged.
- Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, demonstrating urgency without panic.
- Show persistence in repetitive tasks such as data clean-up, and maintain curiosity to identify issues, improvements, and keep stakeholders informed.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Geography, Geology, Graphics, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in geology, geosciences, oil and gas exploration, mining, or related fields.
