Reports to: Food Service Manager
Position Overview:
The Prep Cook is responsible for daily food prep and cooking using a variety of commercial kitchen equipment. The Prep Cook will also maintain cleanliness and organization while ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Cooking:

  • Daily food prep and cooking using a variety of commercial kitchen equipment
  • Prepare and maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Follow sanitation procedures
  • Perform general cleaning and restocking
  • Washing dishes, pots and pans
  • Participating in ongoing training and development
Food Safety & Sanitation:
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature checks.
  • Keep the grill station and kitchen clean by regularly sanitizing surfaces, tools, and equipment.
  • Adhere to local health department regulations to ensure food safety practices are consistently followed.
  • Monitor food storage areas to ensure food items are stored properly and in a sanitary manner.
Inventory & Supplies Management:
  • Assist in managing inventory levels for ingredients, ensuring the necessary supplies are available for daily operations.
  • Notify the Food Service Manager when inventory is low or when issues with food supplies arise.
  • Help monitor waste by following portion control guidelines and ensuring efficient use of ingredients.
Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to all safety standards.
  • Follow all safety guidelines when handling hot equipment and food to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Maintain accurate logs for temperature checks and food safety practices as required by health regulations.
Operational Efficiency:
  • Prep food in a timely manner.
  • Organize the area to minimize downtime and ensure quick and easy access to all necessary ingredients and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 50 lbs occasionally).
  • Ability to work with hot grills, griddles, and other kitchen equipment safely.
  • Previous experience is required
PAY:
$15-$20 an hour depending on experience
HOURS:
Sunday-Thursday 8pm-4am.
This is a direct hire position.
Pay Details: $15.00 to $20.00 per hour
