Geotab is seeking a Data Platform Developer to develop and maintain new Machine Learning platforms. If you love technology and want to join an industry leader, we would love to hear from you! What you'll do: The Data Platform Developer will develop and optimize distributed systems for real-time and batch telematics data processing, supporting our existing big data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform to ensure data availability for our data science team. This role involves devising new methodologies for reconstructing and enriching data at scale and supporting internal users leveraging our big data environment. How you'll make an impact Develop and maintain data infrastructure platforms managing data ingestion, digestion, orchestration, and applications. Optimize distributed systems for telematics data processing. Create processes to enrich big data with telematics data at scale. Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure infrastructure health. Collaborate with data scientists to support data processing needs. Document architecture, requirements, and processes. Assist internal teams with data integration on new big data platforms. What you'll bring to the role Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering, or related field. 1-5 years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or similar roles. Experience developing production systems using Java with Spring framework. Experience with API design and implementation. Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift). Knowledge of data management fundamentals and storage principles. Knowledge of gRPC, Protobuf, Apache Avro, Apache Beam is a plus. Knowledge of Kafka, Flink, Ignite, Airflow, and other Apache tools is a plus. Understanding of batch and streaming data architectures. Familiarity with Big Data environments like Google BigQuery.
