Software Development Engineer II, Finance Technology Solutions

Our Fintech Compliance and Automation Systems group is looking for a Software Development Engineer to contribute to innovative solutions that enhance compliance and streamline Amazon's global financial operations. As a Software Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to design, implement, and deploy large-scale, complex software systems. You will tackle challenging problems, navigate visible risks, and isolate straightforward designs for effective solutions. Key Responsibilities: Define high-level and low-level designs for software solutions using the latest AWS technologies in a large distributed environment. Lead efforts to establish and implement engineering best practices while using data to enhance operational standards. Drive architectural decisions and technology choices for FinTech accounting products. Design, develop, and deploy medium to large software solutions tailored to meet Amazon's accounting requirements. Uphold and elevate code quality, focusing on security, readability, consistency, and maintainability. Exhibit operational excellence in all facets of your work. Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship). 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including design patterns and reliability scaling of new and existing systems. Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Java, C++, or C#, with a focus on object-oriented design. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years experience in the full software development life cycle, covering coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
