This role specializes in Psychiatry and/or Neurology and is responsible for managing assets within our extensive CNS TA portfolio. Position Summary:
As the Medical Director for Global Medical Affairs, CNS Early Assets, you will spearhead the execution of our strategic vision for a selected group of assets under our CNS TA, covering both Psychiatry and an emerging Neurology portfolio. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Global Medical Affairs for CNS Early Assets, you will oversee assets that tackle serious illnesses with unmet medical needs across various stages of early development. This role entails collaboration with cross-functional teams, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of asset-level medical affairs strategies, ultimately driving the successful development and commercialization of novel treatments in the CNS space. Key Responsibilities: Support and align with the therapeutic strategy for assigned assets or the entire TA portfolio. Develop and execute medical strategic plans based on unmet needs and medical value propositions that complement the overall TA strategy. Actively participate in relevant US and Global governance meetings on behalf of Medical Affairs. Collaborate with cross-functional leads to implement the CNS TA strategy and contribute to TRPP (target reimbursable product profile) optimization for assigned assets. Engage in lifecycle management initiatives for assigned assets as needed. Build and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, academic institutions, and advocacy organizations in the assigned CNS disease areas. Represent the company in medical and scientific communities relevant to your assigned areas within the TA. Maintain collaborative peer relations within Otsuka across functions including Clinical Development, Translational Medicine, Global Marketing, and Market Access. Qualifications: Medical Doctor (MD), PhD, or PharmD with significant experience in CNS Psychiatry or Neurology (preferably neuroinflammatory conditions). Must possess experience in US Medical Affairs and preferably Global Medical Affairs, with a strong understanding of US regulations. Relevant knowledge in translational medicine or early development (Phase 1) assets within Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, or Clinical Development is highly preferred. A minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Experience with product launches, particularly in the US market, is a plus. Clinical or academic practice in CNS is desirable. Strategic mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans, alongside excellent communication and presentation skills. A proactive, problem-solving approach with the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment. Pay Range:
Minimum $205,368.00 - Maximum $307,050.00, plus incentive opportunities. This wage range represents a typical starting salary for candidates in this role. Additional factors such as experience, specialized skills, and internal salary comparisons may influence the final offer. Company Benefits:
