Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, and Amazon CloudFront) directly with customers and AWS Partners. Your responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement around specific implementation projects; providing best practices to customers, developing deep expertise in AWS technologies and how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform, and being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and satisfy other security related requirements. Key job responsibilities As a Solutions Architect on our team, you will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to our customers while working with a world class sales and business development team. You will lead efforts to capture and share best-practices within the AWS Solution Architect community. Basic Qualifications 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs Experience working with end user or developer communities Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
