Environmental Database Analyst

to take charge of managing the lifecycle of our environmental data. This vital role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust database management system (RDBMS) to efficiently support the storage, organization, and analysis of our project analytical data. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive data management experience in environmental investigations, particularly under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) programs, along with knowledge of emerging contaminants such as PFAS. This is a fully remote position within the United States, with occasional travel (approximately 10% annually) required for conferences or training sessions. Responsibilities Design and develop a functional database to enhance our environmental data management efforts. Evaluate and recommend the best RDBMS platform to manage diverse types of environmental data, including laboratory analytical results and field measurements. Convert tabular data into formats compatible with the Air Force Environmental Resource Program Information Management System (ERPIMS) utilizing Oracle 12c and ERPToolsX software. Collaborate with project teams across various environmental media (e.g., groundwater, soil, sediment, surface water, vapor) to contribute to the preparation of technical documents. Conduct statistical analyses using standard industry tools, such as Mann-Kendall trend analysis and other EPA statistical toolkits. Create tables, dashboards, and data visualizations to effectively convey findings to stakeholders. Ensure the integrity, consistency, and quality of data across all environmental monitoring and modeling initiatives. Work closely with GIS specialists and technical staff to support integrated data management and project execution. Maintain compliance with relevant environmental data standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements. Requirements At least 2 years of experience working with databases in the environmental consulting sector. Proficient in SQL/RDBMS database creation and management, with experience designing a new database from the ground up. Familiarity with Environmental Database Management Systems (EDMS); knowledge of Synectics EDMS and Fulcrum app development is a plus. Experience in uploading data to ERPIMS and utilizing ERPToolsX software. Ability to integrate APIs for data extraction and loading into SQL databases. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access. Analytical skills to troubleshoot data issues and optimize processes. Skill in organizing raw laboratory data into properly formatted tables for reporting purposes. Experience with laboratory data packages and understanding key environmental parameters (e.g., water quality, soil contaminants). Familiarity with essential analytical methods (EPA methods, ASTM, etc.) and data reporting standards. Ability to work independently and collaboratively to manage multiple assignments successfully. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship is required. Ability to obtain clearance for accessing military bases and other federal installations is necessary. A professional demeanor paired with a proactive, solution-oriented attitude. Education and Training Bachelor's degree in database management, computer science, information technology, geology, engineering, chemistry, or a related field from an accredited institution.
