Senior Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift

The Senior Quality Inspector is responsible for performing advanced inspections and tests on products and materials to ensure they meet company standards. These evaluations will be documented in the form of Data Sheets and/or Inspection Reports. This position involves working with minimal supervision and may include training junior inspectors. All in accordance with CONMED's policies and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Perform inspection activities or investigations using variable, attribute, electronic, and automatic gauging to determine acceptability to documented instructions and workmanship standards.
Program automated inspection equipment such as Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM), optical comparators, automated vision measurement systems (e.g., Micro-Vu, Keyence), and similar.
Generate Data Sheets and/or Inspection Reports of mechanical and visual evaluations and ensure that the records are complete and accurate.
Read and interpret product drawings and specifications.
Ensure rejected components / devices are appropriately identified and separated from other components / devices.
Interface with Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing in support of inspection activities and communicate product non-conformance issues when they occur.
Train and mentor junior inspectors.
Maintain files, logs, records, materials etc. and complete assignments.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
4 - 6 years of experience in quality inspection or another related field with experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for up to eight hours per day, ability to move about, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
Preferred Skills or Competencies:
Associate degree in an engineering program with additional computer training or equivalent.
ASQ CQI certification
Understanding of QMS principles (FDA QSR, ISO13485)
Proficiency in advanced measurement tools and equipment
Capable of using advanced measurement tools, such as Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM), optical comparators, automated vision measurement systems (e.g., Micro-Vu, Keyence), and similar.
Proficient with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) (ANSI Y14.5M)
Attention to detail and good observational skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Travel: 0-20%
