Job Description
Location:
Houston, TX (Hybrid – at least 3 days onsite/week)

We are seeking a
Business Analyst
with solid experience in
power trading
and a strong understanding of
bid-to-bill systems
, ideally with exposure to
Hartigen . The role supports key
trading technology initiatives
, focusing on integrating
SCADA telemetry data
with trading and operational systems in the
ISO/RTO markets
, particularly
ERCOT .
You will act as a bridge between business users and IT, helping to define functional requirements, guide solution design, and ensure smooth system integration across power trading operations.
Partner with
power trading desks and operations
to gather and analyze requirements related to
bid-to-bill workflows
and
asset telemetry integration
Design and document
business and functional requirements
for SCADA and trading system enhancements
Support the
integration of SCADA telemetry
with bid-to-bill platforms (Hartigen preferred, others like Softsmiths, PowerOptix, Adapt2 also valued)
Work closely with development teams on
technical solution design
and implementation
Assist with
testing, change management
, and
production support
Manage
small-scale projects or workstreams
, ensuring alignment with compliance and operational needs

Qualifications: Qualifications
5+ years of experience
in
power or commodity trading
with direct exposure to
U.S. physical power markets
Strong knowledge of
ISO/RTO trading and scheduling
, with a preference for experience in
ERCOT
Hands-on experience with
bid-to-bill platforms
(especially Hartigen) and
integration of power assets and SCADA systems
Familiarity with
power asset types
such as
CCGTs, PV, or BESS
Proficiency in working with
IT teams
, writing
business/functional requirements
, and supporting software implementation
Exposure to
Agile
,
DevOps
, or modern SDLC practices is a plus
Degree in
business, engineering, or computer science
Fluent in English;
French
is a plus
