Windows Systems Administrator II - TS/SCI

HRL is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to join the Special Programs IT team in Malibu, CA. The successful candidate will collaborate with other systems administrators located in Malibu and at various locations throughout the United States. A willingness to continue learning new technologies is a must. An active Top Secret/SCI clearance and experience in classified programs is required. Essential Duties

Work with multi-disciplined team members under general supervision. Provide a friendly and professional point of contact for customers. Perform independent troubleshooting of complex incidents. Maintain Windows systems comprised of servers, workstations, and thin clients. Administer installation of software, hardware, file system management, backups, process control, user administration, and device management. Resolve a wide variety of complex system failures, troubleshooting software, hardware, and network problems. Perform system and user account maintenance. Monitor, evaluate, and optimize system performance. Document maintenance & ticketing actions. Develop and promote standard operating procedures and conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Required Skills

Experience in Windows systems administration. An understanding of multiplatform system hardening (e.g., DISA STIG, SCAP). An understanding of VMware vSphere virtual environments. Some experience with scripting for task automation (e.g., PowerShell, Batch, BASH). Some knowledge of cyber security technology and trends (e.g., Tenable, McAfee, Splunk). An understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing). Experience with system monitoring & alerting tools (e.g., Nagios). Experience working within an accredited system. Demonstrated experience working independently & in a team environment. A current Top Secret/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph is required. Minimum 3 year of experience in a related role is preferred. Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 configuration, management, and troubleshooting is preferred. An Understanding of Group Policy management is preferred. Some experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (8, 9) is preferred. Some experience with SAN management (e.g., NetApp, Dell Unity, HPE GreenLake) is preferred. Some experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (i.e., Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops) is preferred. Exchange Server 2019 configuration, management, and troubleshooting is preferred. Experience with systems management and automation software e.g., (Endpoint Configuration Manager, Satellite, Ansible, Systems Center Orchestrator) is preferred. Experience in multiplatform environments (Windows and Linux) is a plus is preferred. Some experience with High Performance Computing is a plus is preferred. Required Education

High School diploma/GED with 3+ years of experience in a System Administration role or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (or higher) certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CISSP) within 6 months of hire. Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Special Requirements

This position is 100% on-site. Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, and in some cases, with little to no advance notice. This job will also require up to 10% travel. This position requires that the applicant selected be a U.S. citizen and possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance. The applicant must also successfully complete a polygraph. This position requires that the applicant obtain a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (or higher) certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CISSP) within 6 months of hire. As part of your role/function on the program, you will be granted privileged user access, which is subject to greater scrutiny as a direct result of the significant responsibilities. Please be aware that because of these critical duties, you will be subject to additional IT system monitoring and supervisory evaluation to ensure continuous adherence to Privileged User processes and procedures. Privileged Users are subject to a zero-tolerance policy for security violations. Compensation

The base salary range for this full-time position is $90,640 - $113,353 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
