Cloud Infrastructure Systems Engineer (Secret)

SMX is seeking dedicated Cloud Infrastructure Systems Engineers at various experience levels (Junior, Mid, Senior, SME) to support the design and implementation of secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure, applications, and services in support of enterprise cloud migration for the United States Air Force. Join our team to play a critical role in: Designing, developing, and architecting cloud solutions primarily utilizing AWS, with knowledge in Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle. Onboarding new cloud accounts and applications, conducting security patching, building code pipelines, and supporting deployment activities. Contributing to strategic vision and integrating a broad range of engineering solutions for Air Force cloud projects. Solving complex problems for cloud systems using innovative technologies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Architect secure cloud solutions and optimize them for various environments. Lead discussions with clients and collaborate with other vendors effectively. Implement migration strategies and establish environments (Dev, QA, Prod) across secure networks. Automate provisioning, configuration, and monitoring by utilizing DevOps best practices. Support infrastructure security design and compliance documentation processes. Required Skills & Experience: Candidates must have: High School diploma or Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience for junior-level; Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification with 4 years for mid-level; Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification with 8 years for senior-level; or a Master's degree with 16 years for SME-level. Active Security Clearance (Secret). Expertise in cloud services for compute, storage, networking, and automation. Experience with DevOps tools such as Terraform, Jenkins, Git, or Ansible. Demonstrated ability to lead system integrations across various security domains. Desired Skills & Experience: - Previous experience with United States Air Force cloud programs. - Knowledge of Zero Trust and DevSecOps concepts.

This position is currently located in Boston, MA; Colorado Springs, CO; Tampa, FL; or Washington, DC. The salary range for this position is $103,200 - $172,000 USD.
