Amazon Advertising is searching for a talented Software Development Engineer (SDE) to join our innovative team. As one of the most rapidly expanding sectors within Amazon, we are transforming how advertisers engage with customers across our retail websites, devices, and third-party tools.
The Ads Console Security team is responsible for critical security infrastructure that protects Amazon's advertising platform through advanced authentication and authorization systems. Our mission includes safeguarding internal user security, enhancing sign-in experiences, and implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions that secure advertising services and sensitive data. We develop and maintain reliable security systems that facilitate secure access while promoting user-friendly experiences.
We seek an exceptional engineer who thrives on addressing complex security challenges and driving technical innovation in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in designing distributed systems with a strong emphasis on security, scalability, and reliability. You will navigate ambiguous problem spaces, make informed architectural decisions, and lead impactful technical initiatives.

Contribute to concept development and generate innovative ideas.
Build and iterate designs that effectively communicate strategic intent, utilizing the most suitable tools and techniques.
Creatively overcome limitations and challenges to provide delightful experiences for customers.
Manage dependencies and bottlenecks, making tradeoff decisions that balance business needs against technical constraints.
Present your work effectively to all levels of leadership.
Collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team of SDMs, TPMs, FEEs, SDEs, and PEs.
Mentor and develop junior developers.
Own all operational metrics related to your product.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
2+ years of experience in designing or architecting systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
Experience in programming with at least one software language.
Experience building scalable infrastructure software in distributed systems with a service-oriented approach.
Experience defining system architectures and evaluating technical feasibility trade-offs.
Experience developing cloud software services with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
Experience defining, developing, and maintaining REST-based interfaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Superb technical communication skills, able to interact with both technical and non-technical team members.
Proven ability to mentor software developers, ensuring adherence to architectural vision and software quality.
A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
Ability to achieve ambitious goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on numerous factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
