Position Summary:
As the Senior Systems Administrator, you will be the subject matter expert (SME) for all infrastructure components within our hosted datacenter and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) cloud environment. Your responsibilities will include server provisioning and installations, support and administration, including physical and virtual server setups, OS installations, automation, advanced troubleshooting, application-level support, and root cause analysis in both on-premise and GCP environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain systems through software installation, patch applications, file-system management, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting alerts.
Utilize Terraform and GitLab for provisioning and managing IaaS resources within GCP.
Provide 24/7 production support and participate in on-call schedules.
Lead the Linux/Unix infrastructure support team to achieve operational goals and project timelines.
Collaborate with project teams on technical issues throughout all project phases.
Understand customer needs and deliver prompt support for production issues.
Propose technical solutions based on production challenges.
Comply with change control and release management policies.
Report weekly on defined metrics, project statuses, and infrastructure details.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
10+ years of professional experience in 24x7 systems maintenance in a Linux/Unix data center and/or public cloud environment (preferably GCP).
Strong knowledge of ITIL support processes including incident management, change control management, and problem management.
Experience with Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a plus.
Ability to contribute technically and functionally to all applications of service management.
Proven ability to work in an agile environment while managing multiple priorities.
