As a pivotal member of PayPal's GSE China technology team, you will play a key role in building a groundbreaking platform that delivers immersive user experiences to global customers and merchants. Leveraging your full-stack expertise, you will design, develop, and optimize end-to-end solutions-spanning front-end interfaces, back-end services, and integrations-to ensure high availability, scalability, and security. This role encompasses leading architecture design, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional, cross-geographic teams to drive technical innovation for our next-generation user experience.
Key Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end technical solution design and discussions with local and global stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business needs and full-stack technical capabilities. Design, develop, and maintain critical full-stack systems (both internal and client-facing), including user interfaces, business logic layers, data storage solutions, and reusable front-end/back-end frameworks. Own the entire software development lifecycle-from conceptualization to deployment-with a focus on seamless integration between front-end and back-end components. Mentor and coach junior engineers, enforce code quality standards, conduct thorough code reviews, and foster a culture of engineering excellence. Collaborate closely with Product Owners, UED designers, end users, and framework teams to deliver holistic solutions that balance user experience, performance, and scalability. Drive automation and efficiency across the development pipeline through CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and DevOps best practices. Partner with cross-functional and global engineering teams to align on technical standards, resolve integration challenges, and scale solutions worldwide. What do you need to bring:
Minimum of 10+ years of proven experience in
full-stack application development , with a track record of delivering end-to-end web solutions. Experience acting as a tech lead for full-stack components, services, or domains, with a focus on both front-end and back-end architecture. Front-end proficiency : Expertise in HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript, and deep experience with at least one modern framework (React, Vue, or Angular). Back-end expertise : Strong programming skills in back-end languages (e.g., Node.js, Java, Python) and experience with database technologies (relational databases like MySQL, NoSQL databases like MongoDB, and big data tools like Hadoop/Spark). Ability to design and integrate RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-based architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure) to support scalable full-stack systems. Proven ability to navigate ambiguous environments, define clear technical roadmaps, and drive progress in complex, cross-team initiatives. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., product, design, business teams). Experience working with engineering teams across multiple geographies, aligning on global technical standards and delivering cross-border solutions. Desirable Skills 8+ years Experience with hybrid/mobile development (e.g., React Native, Flutter) is a strong plus. 8+ years Expertise in front-end architecture, performance tuning, and security optimization, paired with back-end scaling and infrastructure design. Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins) and cloud-native development practices. A innovative mindset, passion for emerging technologies, and a collaborative, start-up spirit to drive breakthrough solutions.
