Lead Principal Applied Scientist , you will be instrumental in the research, design, experimentation, and implementation of advanced algorithms tailored to complex Stores Display publisher use cases. You will collaborate with diverse teams to optimize the advertising stack, driving significant revenue while enhancing customer experiences. Develop and optimize powerful machine learning models, execute proof-of-concept projects, and collaborate closely with software engineers to ensure successful deployment. Conduct A/B testing, gather insights, and perform rigorous statistical analysis. Establish automated, scalable processes for large-scale data analytics and machine learning development. Explore and research innovative machine learning methodologies. Recruit and mentor new Applied Scientists within the team. About the Team: At Amazon Advertising, we operate at the intersection of eCommerce and advertising, offering an extensive range of digital solutions to help customers discover and purchase products seamlessly. Our focus is on customer satisfaction, guiding every aspect of our advertising strategy. Basic Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in building models for business applications or applied research in industry. PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or related fields. Proficiency in programming, particularly in Python or similar languages. Experience in algorithms, data structures, optimization, data mining, distributed computing, or high-performance computing. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with advertising domain knowledge or experience in causal inference in multi-sided markets. Experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models is a plus.
