Torch Technologies is currently seeking a Software Engineer focused on Embedded Systems to support the Next Generation Combat Vehicle (NGCV) at the Detroit Arsenal, located in Warren, MI. Selected candidates will play a pivoted role in supporting new and existing software projects within current and new vehicle platforms. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated practical experience with software development, integration, and implementation along with strong project management skills and knowledge of phase gate process. Qualified Candidates will have direct experience with the following: Conducting requirements decomposition from various operational requirements | documents Analyzing technical capability and maturity of various software systems Developing technical performance specifications Testing methods and plans development Coordinating with other functional domains Reviewing contractor performance specifications and software documentation Experience within a multiple discipline engineering team Qualified candidates will have an interest or experience in one of the following areas: System of Systems Experience Software Development Experience with an emphasis on Embedded Systems Broad Experience with Electronics and Digital Communication Buses (e.g. RS422, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, Ethernet, etc.) Integration of hardware of software and hardware systems with emphasis on real time | safety critical systems Understanding of OEM documentation |Technical Data Interpolation Test Procedure Implementation Experience in military ground air, or naval vehicles type certification and material release Experience in test and evaluation of complex weapons systems such as missiles, aircraft, tanks, and indirect fire systems Education and Experience Requirements: B.S. or greater in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering. Relevant graduate degrees will be given preference. 5 years of experience in software development with emphasis in embedded systems. (Web | Database | Enterprise Networks - non applicable) 5 years of experience in developing in a Linux Distro Environment (High-Availability applications of driver development) 5 years of experience in one of the following programming languages C | C++ / Ada / Haskell / Scada / VHDL / Verilog / Assembly 1 year of experience in Data Distribution Services (DDS) protocol development 5 years of experience in integration of software and hardware systems with emphasis on real time | safety critical systems Additional Requirements: Candidate must be a U.S Citizen Duty Station - Detroit Arsenal This position requires the candidate meet requirements to obtain a final secret security clearance to access classified information. Inability to obtain a secret clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
