Responsibilities A Data Architect at Berkley Technology Services designs and implements innovative solutions that advance business operations, analytics, and data engineering. They serve as a bridge between business and technical teams, translating needs into technical strategies and ensuring transparency for decision-making. They collaborate with other architects to create comprehensive solutions that benefit the organization. The role involves setting data standards and best practices, evaluating industry-leading data vendors and products, and staying ahead of trends through continuous innovation. As part of the WRBC Architecture Community, you'll contribute to high-impact projects, develop standards, mentor upcoming data professionals, and drive continuous improvement to keep WRBC at the forefront of data architecture. Key Functions Include But Are Not Limited To Technical Strategy Contribute to strategic planning with recommendations on initiatives and roadmaps. Provide feedback on 3-5-year data architecture strategies, including technology investments. Develop and maintain capability models and reference architectures. Stay informed on industry trends and create supporting documentation. Consulting / Guidance Align data strategies across BTS and segments to offer recommendations. Guide development and infrastructure teams with expert advice. Present recommendations clearly to diverse audiences. Leadership Build relationships with business and technical partners on data strategy. Lead data architecture projects and manage change effectively. Encourage engagement with WRB's data and technical strategies. Patterns and Standards Development Identify gaps and develop data design patterns and standards. Research and evaluate data technologies, including proof-of-concept analyses. Maintain a catalog of design patterns and standards. Governance Participate in architecture reviews. Advocate for patterns and standards in Infrastructure, Data, and Security. Community of Practice Engage with the architecture community, develop standards, and mentor less experienced developers. Qualifications Required 8+ years in engineering solutions development and leading large-scale data initiatives. 6+ years hands-on experience across multiple data domains. 2+ years working with large-scale data warehouses/lakes or cloud data environments like Redshift, Data Bricks, Snowflake, etc. 2+ years in cloud architectures (Azure, AWS, GCP). 2+ years with virtualization approaches (VMWare, Nutanix). 2+ years scripting experience (Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.). Experience with enterprise data integration tools and BI/data visualization tools. Ability to work independently, analyze issues, and communicate effectively across technical and business teams. Preferred Experience enabling analytics and predictive modeling solutions. Familiarity with Agile methodologies. Previous role as a Data Architect. Practical AI experience. Certifications in Azure or AWS Cloud architecture. Experience in financial or insurance industries. #J-18808-Ljbffr
