As a Senior Linux/Unix Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the Voice Core Engineering and Test Teams' Linux and Unix-based systems. Your focus will revolve around ensuring the stability, security, and performance of these systems. You will leverage your technical expertise in Linux/Unix administration, Oracle SQL, and PostgreSQL database management, as well as automation scripting to enhance system performance. Cloud readiness and infrastructure configuration are key aspects of this role, supporting our scalable services. Location
This position is remote work from home, available to candidates across the United States. US Citizenship or Permanent Residency/Green Card is required for consideration. Main Responsibilities System Management:
Install, configure, and maintain Linux/Unix servers and associated hardware, ensuring efficient and secure operations. Database Management:
Demonstrate expertise in Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL management, analyzing performance and recommending enhancements. Automation and Scripting:
Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks, utilizing shell scripting, Python, or Ansible. Troubleshooting and Support:
Provide high-level technical support and resolve complex issues related to Linux/Unix systems and applications. Team Responsibilities
As you integrate into the team, you will learn about and contribute to: Implementing virtualization and cloud computing solutions. Deploying innovative technologies within voice environments. Providing support for voice technologies in extensive network settings. Applying network security measures within server operating systems and open-source platforms. Managing voice test platforms for robust simulations and validations. Developing test plans to assess system performance, scalability, redundancy, and maintainability. Analyzing complex test data to enhance quality assurance in real-world conditions. What We Look For Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience:
5+ years of Linux/Unix experience in a large-scale enterprise environment, along with a solid grasp of system administration and performance optimization. Strong foundation in automation scripting (Python, Shell, Perl). In-depth knowledge of Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL database management. Familiarity with cloud computing solutions (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, VMware). Proficient in troubleshooting and problem resolution across diverse environments. Able to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities while maintaining professionalism, detail orientation, and self-motivation. Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this role is based on current national data and may vary by location. Individual pay will reflect skills, experience, and other relevant factors: $103,711 - $138,281 in select states. $108,896 - $145,195 in specific states. $114,082 - $152,109 in higher-cost states.
