Job Description General Summary Under general administrative direction, is accountable for the delivery of patient care services that support the organization's strategic plan and achieve clinical, financial, and service quality objectives in our Pediatric Emergency Department / Pediatric and Adolescent Wellness Space. Our Pediatric ED serves children from birth through 21 years of age, staffed with a passionate team dedicated to the care of children and youth. We offer a broad range of services and pediatric specialty care, serving emergency needs of pediatric patients in both the local community and the region. As the only site for pediatric intermediate, intensive, and specialty care within the UMMS system, our pediatric emergency department serves over 16,000 patients annually. The Peds ED manager is responsible for the quality of clinical services, the competency and performance of nursing staff, and for designing and maintaining systems to support multidisciplinary team functioning and continuity of services with the Children's Hospital / Pediatric service line. The manager also participates in organizational project teams and work groups. More information is available at . Qualifications BSN required; Master's degree with management coursework preferred. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or eligibility for licensure due to Compact state agreements outlined by the MD Board of Nursing is required. At least three years of clinical experience, including pediatric and/or emergency department experience, is required.
