API & AI Security Manager Location: Plano, TX Role Summary Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is seeking a strategic and technically skilled Manager of API & AI Security to lead efforts in securing critical API infrastructure and AI/ML systems. This role involves overseeing a team of security engineers and analysts, collaborating with development, DevOps, and data science teams to ensure secure design, implementation, and operation of APIs and AI applications. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team focused on API and AI security initiatives. Develop and execute strategies for securing APIs and AI/ML systems. Implement security controls for API gateways, authentication, and data protection. Ensure secure development and deployment of AI/ML models, protecting against threats and misuse. Collaborate across teams to embed security into the development lifecycle. Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and security testing. Define and enforce security policies and standards. Stay updated on emerging threats, tools, and regulations. Report on security posture and incidents to leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in leadership. Deep knowledge of API security principles (OAuth2, JWT, etc.). Experience with securing AI/ML systems and understanding related threats. Familiar with security frameworks (OWASP, NIST, MITRE ATT&CK). Strong communication and leadership skills. Preferred Skills Experience with cloud-native API and AI security (AWS, Azure, GCP). Hands-on with tools like Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway, etc. Certifications such as API Security Professional, GMSE, CISSP, CCSP, OSCP. Knowledge of AI governance and ethical principles.
