Job Family Software Development & Support (Digital) Job Family Software Development & Support (Digital) Travel Required Up to 10% Clearance Required Ability to Obtain Public Trust What You Will Do We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and hands-on experience in system implementation. The ideal candidate will bring domain expertise in GIS applications preferably within the utilities sector and will play a key role in guiding system design, integration, and deployment efforts. Provide technical oversight and strategic guidance on GIS software selection, configuration, and deployment. Lead or support the implementation of GIS solutions, ensuring alignment with operational and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS with other enterprise systems. Advise on GIS architecture and data governance best practices. Support risk mitigation strategies and ensure system scalability and performance. Contribute to project planning, execution, and quality assurance activities. Mentor junior team members and provide knowledge transfer to internal stakeholders. What You Will Need Bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 6+ years of experience working with GIS platforms (e.g., Esri ArcGIS, QGIS). Proven experience implementing GIS systems in enterprise environments. Strong understanding of spatial data models, geoprocessing workflows, and GIS integration with utility operations. What Would Be Nice To Have Experience in the utilities sector (electric, gas, water). Project management experience, including planning, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement. Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to GIS in utilities. Certifications such as GISP or PMP are a plus. The annual salary range for this position is $92,000.00-$153,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
