Platform Engineer - CLEARABLE Bestgate Engineering is looking for Platform Software Engineers! Hybrid work options are available from the Columbia, MD area. Design, build, and manage resilient AWS platforms using cloud infrastructure as code, combining Python/Go development with Kubernetes orchestration and strong Linux fundamentals. Integrate & optimize at scale by enhancing existing codebases, blending open-source components, and delivering big data cloud solutions from prototype to production while aligning with team architects. Development of automated deployments (Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD), hardening security, and troubleshooting complex systems across hosts, networks, and applications. Hybrid work style - collaborate with a high-caliber team; average 1-2 days a week on-site in Columbia, MD, with flexible scheduling. Baseline requirements : 5+ years of platform engineering or software development experience, proven AWS deployment expertise, strong Bash/Shell scripting skills, sharp problem-solving abilities, U.S. citizenship, and ability to obtain a Secret Level Security Clearance. Nice to have : Experience with DISA Big Data Platform or Hadoop family, GitLab/Jenkins pipelines, Agile toolchains (Jira, Confluence), and configuration management/virtualization tools (Ansible, Puppet, VMware, etc.). Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000 *The provided salary range is an approximation based on current market data and may vary.
