Position Summary The Network Systems Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining ISC2's internal infrastructure systems. You will join an ongoing project aimed at optimizing both on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring maximum reliability and consistency throughout the network. Automation will play a crucial role in enhancing productivity and streamlining processes. Responsibilities Enhance and implement the global infrastructure footprint with a strong focus on automation. Safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and systems. Administer and configure enterprise networking equipment, including switches, firewalls, and routers. Collaborate with the Security Team to securely configure network infrastructure. Maintain and update security and infrastructure documentation, including network maps and system diagrams. Provide troubleshooting support for end-users and internal applications as necessary. Work independently while also collaborating effectively within a geographically dispersed team. Tune system parameters and configurations to optimize performance based on industry best practices. Offer insights on capacity planning for cost reduction without compromising service quality. Document processes, systems, solutions, and topologies within your areas of responsibility. Stay updated on technological advancements and recommend new products or methods as needed. Monitor and maintain network performance to ensure reliable LAN, WAN, and wireless connectivity. Conduct basic troubleshooting of network issues and escalate complex problems when necessary. Assist in configuring and installing network hardware, under supervision. Document network configurations and topologies. Respond promptly to service tickets and support end-users and internal teams. Conduct routine network maintenance tasks, such as patch management and firmware updates. Collaborate with IT teams to implement network security measures. Create and maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and incidents. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about networking technologies. Maintain professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information. Qualifications Basic understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs). Familiarity with networking hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) and tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds). Basic comprehension of VMware management. Experience with endpoint management tools (e.g., JAMF, PRTG, Intune). Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing & Switching (CCNA) preferred; other certifications are desirable. Experience with Wi-Fi setup/management using Meraki is highly preferred. Knowledge of SQL management and maintenance is a plus. Education and Work Experience Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; or at least 4 years of relevant enterprise-level experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum 2 years of related enterprise-level experience in network and systems roles. Experience implementing routing, switching, and security controls through the OSI model required. 2 years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft O365) using IaaS and PaaS preferred. Experience with patching and updating Windows/Linux servers is a plus. Physical and Mental Demands Work normal business hours; extended hours, evenings, and weekends may be necessary; participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation. Potential for 5-10% travel (domestic and international). Ability to remain stationary for prolonged periods while using a computer or office equipment. Occasional ability to lift and transport equipment or packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
